Operating Company in WY, that is owned by your holding company. This company is the one that you conduct your business with.
Then, each property in its own LLC in the state that the property is in.
For instance, if you own 4 homes in Ohio you would have:
- 1 Holding Company LLC in WY
- 1 Operating Company LLC in WY
- 4 Property LLC in Ohio
That would be a total of 6 LLCs.
It is not required to structure your business like this, but with this structure, it provides the most asset protection.
